Manchester Photography: Christmas Market

This is the third year Carol and I have been to the Christmas/Winter Market in Manchester. We don't really buy loads from the market, but we love walking round it....so much colour it's wonderful. with the buildings and the market it is a greay place for photography.

I think Manchester is the perfect place to go Christmas shopping, especially when the market is there as the choice of food is great, especially naughty food....chocolate, waffles, pancakes, coconut macaroons, roast pork (cut straight from the pig) sausage and cheese, I'm a big cheese fan.....so nice, not to mention all the great food places Manchester has to offer normally, we actually found a great little restaurant (down an alley then down some stairs), the place was pretty full but not as full as it would be if everyone knew about this place the food was amazing....sadly I can not remember the name, but will return and let everyone know.

Any way, onto some pics from our day out, I tried to stay away from shooting people, but one vendor I could not resist and just had to capture him.

Liverpool Wedding Photographer :- Claire and Dave eshoot and The Beatles

Well last Saturday I had the pleasure of joining Claire and Dave in Woolton, Liverpool home to a few famous Beatles landmarks, so we thought we'd use a couple in the photos.

I will be the photographer at their wedding next year at St Aloysius Church in Liverpool, then afterwards at the Village Hotel, Whiston.

As with most of my couples Claire and Dave were unsure about what to expect during the eshoot....which is cool as it kinda means there are no rules.

Generally I try to have fun, keeping things relaxed.

Claire and Dave went along with the having fun part pretty well I thought, we met in a local supermarket car park, through my stuff in Daves car and off we went. I must say here that we have perfect weather, by the time I'd driven home from the shoot it was starting to rain.

First stop a local park where they played on the swings and the see-saw, I knew right then we were going to have a good shoot.

Next we drove and found an awesome building, big blag doors, leaves on the floor....heaven.

We went to a park that is sometimes used by Holyoaks (a tv show for those not in the know), we got asked if we were filming for them, when the person in question realised we weren't famous we were quickly left alone.

Then it was time for some of the Beatles places, we drove past Sgt Peppers, it's being refurbished, so I'm told.

Down Penny Lane, and on to Strawberry Fields.....I do feel sorry for people who come all the way to the UK to see them Penny Lane is a painted sign on the wall, the real one get stolen a long time ago. Strawberry Fields is nothing more than a gate, but still they are part of great musical history.

Anyhoooo you're here for the pics I believe, so on with the show......usual stuff, click a pic to see the larger version of it.

Widnes Cheshire Wedding Photographer, Leah and Mark release paper lanterns

Well last week I met up with Leah and Mark, some of their family and friends. After being made so welcome when I was the chosen photographer to shoot their wedding, in West Bank, Widnes, Cheshire, I was honoured to be asked to meet up with them all again.

It was just like meeting up with great friends again. I'm looking forward to hanging with them again soon.

Leah and Mark had been bought some Paper Lanterns, so everybody met up to release them.

It was pitch black by the time we released them, luckily I had my torch with me so I could see them and also get the camera to focus on them.

There were little cards attached to the lanterns that people wrote messages on.

There was a little confusion at first as to exactly what to do, but they soon got the hang of it.

I imagine there may have been a few sightings of UFO's that night.

You can see the wedding pics here

And the eshoot pics here

Wedding Photographer in Cheshire - Leah and Mark get hitched.

Well Saturdays wedding was great. It was the coming together of best friends, two people who are meant to be.

when I blogged the e-shoot pics last week, I said this was going to be one of my favourite weddings, and I was right. Everyone involved in the day was just awesome, and really made me feel like I was a part of the day and not just there to be mr wedding photographer

I started whilst the girls were getting prepared, but as Mark was getting ready round the corner I got a couple of pics of him before he left for the Church in the Aston.

The Bridesmaids were going in the VW Splitty....I'd take this over the Aston...everytime. Leah realised that she wasn't going to fit her dress into the Aston so arranged to go to the Church in the VW too.

The ceremony was really moving, and in order to keep any sadness away from the PARTY, the speeches where done in the church, so no raising your glasses, Bestman Mike got everyone to raise the roof....cool stuff.

During the speeches I captured one of my favourite shots, as Mark gave his speech, his new wife watched on, and everything in her face says LOVE...beautiful.

Anyway after the speeches and tears (cameras hide many a thing) we headed outside into the quickly fading lights to get some shots.

Mark then headed off in the Aston whilst Leah and the girls awaited the VW to come and get them, but we got to play with some more pics.

I managed to steal them both away for a total of 4 mins, but as they're so awesome we got awesome!!!!

OK I talk a lot, but on to the shots, as usual click the pics to see the bigger version.

and keep coming back as the Leah and Mark photo story isn't yet complete, we have more....I had a superb time with them on Wednesday....but that will have to wait.

Wedding Photographer Cheshire - Leah and Mark - eshoot

Well Tomorrow I photograph the wedding of Leah and Mark - I shot their eshoot a few weeks back, but it was all to be a big surprise.

This is going to be one of my favourite weddings, but also one of my toughest. Since Leah and Mark booked me, I've chatted to Mark quite a bit on facebook. The dood makes me laugh every time we chat, he is slightly inappropriate at times.......so he kinda reminds me of some of my family members :p, Mark would fit right in.

Leah is awesome too, how dare I spend so much time talking wedding talk and not mention the bride yet....wrist slapped. Leah is cool, she is so wonderfully caring, and sweet - she has arranged this wedding to be just right.

a couple more awesome facts - Mark will be arriving at the Church in an Aston Martin DB9 GT, SUUR WEEEEET. Leah will be arriving in it too, just a little later.....based on speed, not much later ;) hahahaha as I typed this, I was chatting to Mark who told me "Just off out for brekkie in the machine" I hope he doesn't spill his cornflakes in the Aston ;)

Bridesmaids will be arriving in a VW Split screen Campervan, double SUUR WEEEET. Mark and Leah were looking at buying one of these (as was I a few years back) but they cost £30k plus.....gulp.

ok, your wondering why it's going to be tough, well it for the most part it won't be, but it will. Sadly, Mark has 3 brain tumors, these are inoperable. But we can't dwell on that, Mark won't allow us to. It can't be Morbid he told me, it's a celebration, darn tootin man, Lets celebrate.

So the pics aren't a surprise anymore, so I'll share some. feel free to leave some love for them below, remember be happy we're here to celebrate Love!!!!

Cheshire Wedding Photographer - New lens photos

Well, I pulled the trigger and bought myself a Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L IS lens, an almost perfect lens for wedding photography.

I've had it less than 24 hours but already I am pleased to own this lens, and I can see it being in my camera bag for a long time to come.

When it arrived yesterday, I call up Carol just so I could tell someone, "It's here It's here It's here", whilst dancing around like an idiot.....yes I am that much of a geek. I could tell Carol was shaking her head as I was doing it, but she is kinda used to me now...so it's ok.

Anyway I got out in the garden and took a few quick pictures, which I thought I would share with y'all.

I really can't wait to use this whilst playing wedding photographer. Thankfully I don't have to wait long, as I have a wedding to photograph this coming Saturday. I think if I didn't I would have crashed a wedding. Anyway on to the pictures. Oh the last shot was taken with my good friend Tony's 17-40 f/4 lens, cheers for the loan matey.

As usual, click the pics to see a bigger version if you so wish.
